OK Tubrodur 15.73 is a general purpose, metal powder-filled tube electrode with mixed gas or CO2 as shielding gas for hard welding with gas metal arc welding and produces a weld metal of martensitic 13% chromium steel, especially suitable for applications where good wear resistance in a corrosive environment at elevated temperature is required. It is suitable for hard welding of shafts, rollers, valve seats and other types of wear parts exposed to wear in a corrosive environment and/or at high temperatures, where a hardness of 440 - 520 Hv is required.

A basic tube electrode to be used without shielding gas for brazing. The weld metal is rich in chromium carbides, which provides extremely good wear protection against gritty and fine-grained material such as sand, soil, clay, ore and cement, etc. The part must be preheated to 400¢ªC and maintain this temperature during welding. This treatment naturally assumes that the base material can handle this treatment, which 13% Mn steel does not. More than two layers must not be welded on with this type of electrode. Are more layers necessary on e.g. 13% Mn steel, buffer layers must be welded with OK Tubrodur 14.71 or OK 67.52. On ordinary carbon-manganese steels, buffer layers can be made with low-alloy OK Tubrodur 15.43 or OK 83.29. The tube electrode's composition makes its welding material durable even in a corrosive environment and at high temperatures. Peeling temperature > 1000°C.

A tube electrode for hard welding without shielding gas. The weld metal is nickel-alloyed austenitic 12-14% manganese steel and is quite soft in the untreated state. OK Tubrodur 15.60 provides tougher welds with better crack resistance than non-nickel-alloyed austenitic manganese steel electrodes and is a safe solution for rebuilding details in 13% manganese steel, such as crusher cones, pendulum hammers and parts in earthmoving machines, mining and quarrying equipment.
