Elektrod ESAB OK AlSi12 Typ Alkalisalt
Silicon alloy aluminum electrode with a special flux-type casing. The electrode is intended for welding cast so-called silumin alloys containing approx. 12% Si, for example engine blocks, gearboxes, fittings etc. as well as to rolled alloys with corresponding strength such as SS-EN 4104, 4212, 4260 and 4261. The melting of the electrode takes place about three times as fast as when welding with ordinary coated electrodes intended for welding steel. The electrode diameter is chosen according to the thickness of the goods. Must be held perpendicular to the workpiece with the shortest possible arc. Preheat the workpiece or at least the starting point to 200-300°C. Has a very easy-flowing slag. The slag should be completely washed off with water. Can also be used for gas welding/soldering, whereby the casing acts as a flux. The electrodes must be stored dry and the packaging should not be left open for longer than necessary.
